From November 11 to 16, the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, will host the U.S. Olympic Curling Team Trials. Four men’s and four women’s teams will compete to see who earns the right to represent Team USA at the Olympic Qualification Event for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games.
The competition in Sioux Falls determines who moves on to the next stage — the Olympic Qualification Event in Kelowna, Canada. There, the U.S. teams will fight for the final two remaining Olympic quotas in both the men’s and women’s categories.
“As it stands, the USA has neither secured a quota for the men’s event nor the women’s event at the Games next February.”
This situation follows insufficient Olympic Qualification Points from the 2024 and 2025 World Championships. Success in Kelowna will be crucial: if the U.S. fails to claim one of the two available spots in each division, the nation will have no curling representation in Milano Cortina.
Since curling became an official Olympic sport in 1998, the United States has competed in every edition. The men’s team achieved a bronze medal at Turin 2006 and a historic gold at PyeongChang 2018.
