Record Mobile Data Use in the Netherlands

Mobile data usage in the Netherlands surged 16% in Q2, driven by 5G at home.

According to the Telecommonitor from the Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM), mobile data usage reached a new high, surpassing the previous record set just three months earlier, with an increase of over 16 percent.

The regulator suggested that the increase could be partly due to Odido's Klik&Klaar internet service, which allows customers to use 5G internet at home without needing a cable, counting towards mobile data rather than fixed-line internet.

No official investigation into the cause was conducted.

Author's summary: Mobile data use in Netherlands increases by 16%.
