As Six Flags' Maryland location closes, longtime visitors bid farewell to the amusement park.
The park's parent company, managing over 40 amusement parks in North America, announced the closure in May.
“We will feel its loss,” said Lise Bruneau, a Washington, D.C. resident. “I feel it already.”
Six Flags America and Hurricane Harbor in Bowie closed permanently on Sunday, drawing a crowd for a final day of reminiscing.
For Bruneau, the park holds 16 years of memories, including where her son first learned to swim, and rekindled her childhood love for amusement parks.
