A new partnership between the Ocean Biodiversity Information System (OBIS) and the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS) aims to make ocean biodiversity information more accessible worldwide.
Combining physical, biogeochemical, and biological observations is essential to understand, monitor, and predict changes in the ocean.
The partnership, highlighted at the Living Data 2025 conference in Colombia, brings together physical, chemical, and biological data to improve understanding and protection of the ocean. Both OBIS and GOOS are part of UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission.
