Rare LS Lowry Works to be Auctioned
Rare works by artist LS Lowry are expected to fetch millions of pounds at an upcoming auction.
The Modern British And Irish Art Evening Sale at Christie's London will feature several works from private collections on October 22.
- Going To The Match (1928), valued between £2 million and £3 million
- Industrial Landscape (1957), valued between £250,000 and £350,000
- Bourton-On-The-Water (1947) and A Footbridge (1938), both valued between £400,000 and £600,000
Last year, a painting of Maryport by LS Lowry sold for over £800,000 at a London auction.
LS Lowry had a long affiliation with the town of Maryport and Cumbria as a whole.
