Over £8,000 Raised for Family of North Belfast Man Who Drowned in Turkey

A fundraising campaign has raised over £8,000 to support the family of Anthony (Anto) Smyth, a 39-year-old North Belfast man who tragically drowned while on holiday in Turkey.

Anto, a delivery driver and lifelong Cliftonville FC fan, went missing while boating with his girlfriend Susana in the Manavgat district of Antalya. His body was later recovered from Oymapınar Dam Lake.

We are heartbroken to share that our dear friend Anthony tragically drowned while on holiday at Green Canyon, Turkey. He was having a wonderful time with his girlfriend, Susana, when the accident happened.

A GoFundMe page was set up to raise money for Anto's family, with a current total of £8,712. The page reads: "We’ve started a GoFundMe to support Anthony's family during this devastating time. Any help or shares are deeply appreciated. Thanks, Anto's mates."
