Bruce County Museum Marks Remembrance Day
The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre will mark Remembrance Day on November 8 with a special guest, historian and author Ted Barris.
Ted Barris will help celebrate the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, exploring the significant contributions of Canadian airmen during the Second World War.
- Canadian airmen served in 47 squadrons.
- 20 pilots were lost in action.
- 12 received the Distinguished Flying Cross for their courage.
Barris will highlight the extraordinary bravery of Canadian flyers who helped defend England during 113 harrowing days in 1940.
Canadian flyers from well-known families and fresh from the farm served with courage and distinction.
