A massive data leak has exposed over 183 million Gmail accounts, making it one of the biggest data leaks in history.
Millions of Gmail users have been affected, with tens of millions of accounts compromised. The leak was caused by infostealer malware such as RedLine and Vidar, which infect computers, collect login credentials, and send them to hackers.
According to cybersecurity researcher Troy Hunt, founder of Have I Been Pwned, about 16 million accounts were being exposed for the first time. The hackers built a 3.5-terabyte database of stolen passwords, which is now being sold or shared online.
