South Africa Debut for Zachary Porthen Against Japan
Zachary Porthen will make his debut for South Africa against Japan at Wembley on Saturday, as announced by coach Rassie Erasmus.
Cheslin Kolbe has been moved to full-back, while Damian de Allende and Jesse Kriel will form a midfield combination, indicating a running game strategy against Japan.
He proved at United Rugby Championship level and with the Junior Springboks what he can do, and we are looking forward to seeing what he can offer in his first Test match.
Japan previously upset South Africa 34-32 in the 2015 Rugby World Cup and trailed by only two points at half-time in their 2019 match in Tokyo.
