Families Fish, Bond at Trees Lake Event
A free fishing day at Trees Lake in Deming attracted many first-time anglers, including 16-year-old Leoaardo Vasquez.
“My uncle fishes,”
Vasquez said after receiving a free rod and reel, fishing line, sinkers, floats, and bait. Matty Gonzales from 505 Anglers in Albuquerque helped promote the event on behalf of the New Mexico Dept. of Game and Fish, handing out free fishing rods and reels to children under 18.
- Many fishing rods were donated by Bill Dupree of Busy Bee Septic in Deming.
