Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman Ends 18-Inning World Series Game 3 Thriller
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays played a tense nine innings full of momentum shifts, lead changes, thrilling heroics, and hair-raising mistakes.
Game 3 of the World Series began on Monday in Los Angeles and ended on Tuesday, with Freddie Freeman’s solo home run in the bottom of the 18th inning lifting the Dodgers to a 6-5 victory, 6 hours and 39 minutes after the game began.
The game nearly ended earlier, including in the 14th inning when Will Smith dropped his bat as he admiringly watched a deep fly ball to center field, only to see it land in the glove of Daulton Varsho some 383 feet from home plate.
Freeman’s solo home run in the bottom of the 18th inning lifted the Dodgers to a 6-5 victory.
