Lions Club and County Commission Unveil Plaque Celebrating Fayette County's NBA Greats
The Fayette Memorial Building in Fayetteville, WV, has a rich history, including a notable basketball legacy. The Fayette County Lions Club and the Fayette County Commission honored former players who became NBA greats with a plaque in the gymnasium.
"We can't name every great player that played in here," said FCLC Member John Arritt. "So what we tried to do was to mention the West Virginia natives who played here. That was important to us."
The plaque aims to inspire young people playing on the floor, highlighting the historical significance of the court, where legendary players like Jerry West once played.
