FIFA ASEAN Cup Announced for Southeast Asia
The tournament was announced during the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur. FIFA and ASEAN have announced the launch of a new FIFA ASEAN Cup, as part of the plans to boost the development of football across the region.
A renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn. National teams from all ASEAN member states will feature in the tournament in a format inspired by the Arab Cup.
The agreement between FIFA and ASEAN will help make a difference in the region through the sport of football.
