Chaz Mostert made it two out of two from the Supercars Championship race weekend at the Gold Coast, winning today's 250km race from third on the grid.
Thomas Randle got the jump on pole sitter Broc Feeney at the start, but the Triple Eight driver was able to get back in front by the first chicane.
The race was mostly uneventful and Mostert was able to get into the lead by the time of the second pit stops, emerging ahead of Feeney who suffered from a slow pit stop.
There was just one safety car session during the race and it came when Anton De Pasquale put James Courtney into the wall and out of the race. De Pasquale was handed a 15-second penalty which dropped him down to 16th place.
The field was released again with just four laps left and Walkinshaw Andretti United driver Mostert had to defend hard from Feeney.
Author's summary: Chaz Mostert wins Gold Coast double in Supercars Championship.
