Raiders Welcome Grambling State, Jackson State for HBCU Classic in Las Vegas
The Las Vegas Raiders hosted a big welcome for two historic schools, Grambling State and Jackson State, ahead of the first Official P&G Las Vegas HBCU Classic at Allegiant Stadium.
The NFL team welcomed the schools to its Henderson headquarters, where the football teams got to tour the facilities. Additionally, two flag football teams from local middle schools participated in a junior training camp on the indoor practice field.
"It's such a strong culture that they have in the South with HBCUs," said Raiders President Sandra Douglass Morgan. "So being able to bring that out West and exposing Las Vegas ... to just the bands, the camaraderie, the collegial environment, it's just great.
The event aimed to elevate the profile of the two schools in Southern Nevada, and the Raiders are honored to host the HBCU Classic.
