A New Partnership to Support People with Brain Injuries
Headway Devon, a local charity based in Exeter, specializes in helping individuals rehabilitate from head injuries. They have partnered with Thompsons Solicitors, MAPS Benevolent Trust, and the Players of the Postcode Lottery to provide support.
After a brain injury, people are often discharged home to a family network without wider support. As one might expect,
you've spent months in hospital, in ICU, in rehabilitation with a team of clinicians around you and suddenly you're all alone.
Many individuals may not understand that they've had a brain injury, and some might be at the beginning of a legal fight for compensation. Headway Devon works alongside around 100 people every week, but there are more who go home alone and have never heard of them.
