Harvey Gollahan, charged in connection to the death of 17-month-old Elena Hembree, also known as Baby Elena, has accepted a plea deal.
According to Commonwealth Attorney Michael Taylor, the plea deal will result in Gollahan serving 20 years in prison, with 5 years for each of the four counts against him: three counts of criminal abuse in the second degree and one count of being a felon with a firearm.
"The deal is based on what the evidence the state had and could prove in this case,"
said Taylor. The court will make a final ruling on November 3.
The child's mother, Erica Lawson, previously pleaded guilty to murder and is serving a 20-year prison sentence.
