Dr. Genessier has become increasingly distant from his patients and admirers, consumed by his missing daughter. However, the truth is that his daughter isn't missing at all.
The police discover a body in the river with a unique identifier, where the woman's eyes are the only part of her face still intact, resembling Genessier's daughter. Believing it to be his daughter, he holds a funeral, but it's all a ruse.
