The 2025 Shanghai Masters was a family affair, with cousins Valentin Vacherot and Arthur Rinderknech meeting in the final. Vacherot emerged victorious, defeating Rinderknech 4–6, 6–3, 6–3 to claim his maiden ATP Tour title.
Notably, Vacherot's victory came after a remarkable run, which included an upset of 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic in the semi-final. He also defeated 14th seed Alexander Bublik and 10th seed Holger Rune, becoming the first man from Monaco to reach the quarter-final of an ATP Masters 1000 event and ultimately winning the title.
