Local Volunteer Fire Department Celebrates 50 Years
The Shaker Road Loudonville Fire Department has been a gateway for young people to explore a career as a first responder for 50 years through its Explorer Post.
Valentino Centanni joined the post as soon as he was eligible, just after his 14th birthday last September, following in his older brother's footsteps.
The Explorer Post has a strong sense of family, with many members having relatives in the department, and newcomers quickly becoming part of the family.
This month, Explorer Post 475 is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
