The city controller will help monitor LA's compliance.
A new order by Judge David O. Carter appointed Daniel Garrie as monitor, effective immediately, with support from Mejia for data access and coordination.
Mejia is currently the most knowledgeable person regarding the myriad and complex funding streams involved with the homelessness system — he would not require further payment either,”
Carter wrote. The city had previously changed its mind about Garrie serving as monitor, according to court records.
The city and L.A. Alliance are due back in court for the first quarterly compliance-review hearing on November 12.
