A recent survey by HT Vista, a veterinary imaging company, found that 62% of masses on dogs seen in US veterinary clinics go undiagnosed.
The survey, which included 243 veterinarians, mostly general practitioners, revealed that as the number of lumps increases, the likelihood of sampling decreases.
A "wait and see" approach may be costing dogs valuable treatment time and compromising outcomes.
Author's summary: Many canine masses are left undiagnosed in clinics.
