Don Was and The Pan-Detroit Ensemble Tour Debut Album
Don Was, a music industry legend, has been making music for nearly 50 years. Despite his extensive career, he has never released a record under his own name until now.
Was has produced music for notable artists such as The Rolling Stones, Elton John, and Ringo Starr. He has also played bass for Ryan Adams, Iggy Pop, and Bob Seger. His band, Was (Not Was), achieved commercial success in 1987 with the hit song "Walk the Dinosaur."
Since 2012, Was has served as president of Blue Note Records. In a recent interview with C-VILLE, he discussed his latest project and shared stories about introducing John Mayer to Bob Weir and his eighth-grade dance.
