Diwali Fest set to shine light on Indian culture
The city of Novi will be hosting a Diwali festival to highlight Indian culture and traditions from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on October 16 at the Novi Civic Center.
City officials, including Councilwoman Priya Gurumurthy, will be performing an Indian cultural dance at the event.
“It’s the perfect thing to do,”
said City Councilwoman Priya Gurumurthy, noting that 30% of the city's population is Asian, with a significant percentage being Indian.
