Car crashes are the leading cause of death for children over 5 years old, according to the State of Arizona.
Statistics show that car seats have life-saving power, especially for young children. A recent incident in Prescott illustrates this point. A serious rollover crash left a woman in critical condition for months, but her 11-month-old granddaughter, who was strapped into a car seat, suffered only minor injuries.
“Somehow, she lost control of the car. The car rolled about three or four times and in that process, she was ejected out,” said Jacqueline Martinson, the grandmother.
“She actually came out of this situation by the grace of God with just a couple bruises,” Martinson added.
