Radiohead announced the postponement of two concerts from their four-night engagement at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen after frontman Thom Yorke developed what the group described as an “extreme throat infection.”
“We’re saddened to announce that Thom is suffering from an extreme throat infection and has been strictly advised not to sing for a few days. As a result, the shows scheduled for this Friday and Saturday will be rescheduled,”
said the band in a message shared on social media.
The group expressed gratitude for fans’ understanding, adding that rescheduled dates would be announced soon. Tickets for the postponed concerts will remain valid for the new performances once confirmed.
The band had been midway through their brief Copenhagen residency, part of a limited European run. Medical professionals reportedly told Yorke to rest his voice completely until further notice. No other tour dates have been affected yet, though the band indicated they will monitor his recovery closely.
Fans quickly flooded social media with messages of support, wishing Yorke a speedy recovery and praising the group for prioritizing health over performance commitments.
“Take care of yourself, Thom. We’ll wait as long as it takes,” one fan posted on X.
According to Rolling Stone, Radiohead intends to resume live performances once Yorke fully recovers, with updates expected within the week.
“We regret the inconvenience caused and deeply appreciate your patience,” the band concluded.
