### ACUD and Cameroon Sign Agreement for New Diplomatic Premises in Egypt’s New Capital
The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) and the Embassy of Cameroon in Cairo have finalized an agreement for the purchase of two plots of land in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital. The sites will be used to build new headquarters for Cameroon’s embassy and ambassador’s residence.
ACUD’s CEO, Khaled Abbas, emphasized that the agreement reflects strong Egyptian-African relations and the New Capital’s growing role as a global administrative center. He noted that several countries have already secured locations for their embassies within the diplomatic district.
Cameroon’s Ambassador to Egypt, Mohamadou Labarang, praised the cooperation between both sides, stating that the project represents “deeper friendship and long-term diplomatic partnership” between Egypt and Cameroon. Construction is expected to begin soon after the completion of design and planning procedures.
> “This agreement underlines our commitment to enhance diplomatic presence and foster mutual development in Africa,” said Labarang during the signing ceremony.
### Project Context
The New Administrative Capital, located east of Cairo, has been under development since 2015 to decongest the city and host government bodies, foreign embassies, and international organizations. The diplomatic district within the capital is designed to represent Egypt’s role as a hub for international diplomacy.
The ACUD continues to sign contracts with other nations and international institutions, encouraging a modern and secure environment for diplomatic activities.
