Avalon Airport is set to expand and improve ahead of new international Jetstar services launching next year. The upgrades include adding 1,000 new seats across both international and domestic terminals, upgrading runway lighting, installing new security equipment and CCTV, connecting water to the new control tower, and creating an additional 500 parking spaces.
The airport recently opened an upgraded freight facility and will begin Jetstar flights to Bali in March 2026. In addition, Avalon Airport will introduce its first public bus route to complement the existing SkyBus service.
"This infrastructure will set the foundation for even more flights in regional Victoria for years to come."

"The new bus route will deliver better public transport options for Avalon and ensure improved access for thousands of workers and passengers every day, together with the additional services on the Geelong Line delivered last year."

The upgrades are expected to create approximately 80 new jobs and boost the visitor economy in regional Victoria.
