Difficult Decision: Livinia Nixon Departs Nine News
Livinia Nixon has announced her departure from Nine News after 21 years, though she will continue working with Nine on the programs Postcards and Getaway.
“After two decades in the 9Newsroom, I’ve made the difficult decision to step back from my current role,” she wrote on Instagram.
She explained the reason for her decision:
“As you know, the juggle of modern life is unrelenting and I need to spend more time with my boys.”
Reflecting on her time at Nine News, Nixon expressed her gratitude:
“Thank you for allowing me the privilege of being in your lounge rooms every night….I haven’t always got the forecast right, but hey, that’s Melbourne for you!”
“I’m so grateful for so many years surrounded by a wonderful News team and I’m proud to be leaving on a high. I shall be cheering 9News on from the sidelines.”
“I’ll always be grateful to Channel 9 for understanding my situation and for supporting my decision. I’ll remain at 9 filming stories for Getaway and Postcards.”
