Bollywood actor Katrina Kaif and her husband Vicky Kaushal welcomed their baby boy on Friday, November 7. The couple shared the joyful news on social media, receiving an overwhelming wave of congratulations. Married since 2021, they have long been one of Bollywood’s most admired couples.
Vicky Kaushal was raised in Mumbai by his father, action director Sham Kaushal, and his mother, Veena Kaushal. In contrast, Katrina’s upbringing was quite different. She was brought up by her single mother, Suzanne Turquotte, who initially worked as a lawyer before dedicating herself to global charity work. Because of her mother’s profession, Katrina and her seven siblings moved frequently across various countries.
Throughout her youth, Katrina’s father was absent after leaving the family when she was still very young.
“My father is not an influence, he was not part of our family; my parents separated when I was very young and I have never met him since,”
she said in a 2008 interview with Shoma Chaudhury while reflecting on her early life. Katrina credited her mother for teaching her open-mindedness and compassion through their travels and shared experiences.
Katrina Kaif, now a new mother, reflected on her independent upbringing with her mother Suzanne Turquotte, noting her father's absence and the lessons of empathy she learned through a global childhood.
