Following yesterday’s release of character posters, Netflix unveiled the opening scene of Stranger Things season 5’s premiere episode, titled The Crawl. This clip takes viewers back to 1983 when Will mysteriously disappeared into the Upside Down.
In the scene, young Will is attacked inside his makeshift fort by a Demogorgon. The creature drags him to Vecna’s lair, marking Will’s first terrifying encounter with the villain.

Set in the fall of 1987, Hawkins remains deeply affected by the Rifts' opening. The heroes unite with a single mission: find and kill Vecna. However, Vecna has disappeared, leaving his location and plans unknown.
The looming final battle promises an enemy more powerful and deadly than ever before. To end the nightmare, the entire group must stand together for one last time.

Alongside this, the animated series Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 revealed its first look ahead of its 2026 premiere.
