New country to join Abraham Accords normalization deals with Israel: US special envoy

New Country to Join Abraham Accords with Israel

US President Donald Trump's special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, announced on Thursday that a new nation is set to join the normalization agreements with Israel known as the Abraham Accords.

“I’m flying back to Washington tonight because we’re going to announce tonight, another country coming into the Abraham Accords,” said Witkoff during a business forum in Miami, Florida.

Although Witkoff did not reveal which country will officially join the accords, he confirmed that the announcement would be made later that evening at an event in Washington, D.C.

The announcement coincides with President Trump's plans to host leaders from five Central Asian nations — Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan — at the White House on Thursday night. It remains uncertain whether the news will be disclosed during the dinner, yet the president is expected to be present at any major declaration.

The Abraham Accords represent normalization agreements between Israel and several Muslim-majority states first achieved during Trump's initial presidential term.
