Bradley Beal reflects on failed time with Suns, what's next

Bradley Beal Reflects on His Time with the Suns

Bradley Beal shared that he was uncertain what story would emerge from his return to Phoenix, but he recognized there was something worth telling. The former Phoenix Suns guard spoke with local media for the first time since his July buyout and his move to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Beal, reflecting four months later, looked back on the Suns’ tough stretch over the past two seasons. He avoided specifics about internal matters during the team’s struggles or the process leading to his departure. Despite the setbacks, his demeanor suggested he had already made peace with the past and moved forward.

“You reflect for sure,” he said. “Everybody did their ‘what if’s’ but you can’t live in the past, you can’t live in those moments. Obviously, we could have had something special, but it didn’t happen. Didn’t work, and we all moved on.”

Beal acknowledged the failed expectations alongside Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, saying that while it will likely remain a lasting “what if,” he believes events unfolded as they were meant to.

“It’s probably gonna be a big ‘what if?’ story forever but at the end of the day, everybody has a story, everything happens for a reason and I’m excited with where I am and I’m sure Book’s excited for his team and I’m sure K is excited for his situation.”

Author’s Summary

Beal calmly reflected on his time in Phoenix, admitting the Suns fell short of expectations but emphasizing acceptance, growth, and excitement for new beginnings.
