Manchester United remain unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches, but they could only draw against Nottingham Forest, where Benjamin Sesko faced difficulties.
Since his £74 million transfer from RB Leipzig, Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko has recorded two goals and one assist in ten Premier League appearances. Manager Ruben Amorim has been gradually integrating the 22-year-old into the team.
Before the international break, Sesko showed progress by scoring against Brentford and Sunderland. However, his performance against Nottingham Forest was less convincing.
"I'm no further forward with him. The jury is out. He's well off it compared to the other summer signings that Man United made up front in [Matheus] Cunha and [Bryan] Mbeumo. He looks awkward, he had a couple of really good opportunities in the first half - when balls got played over the top and his touch wasn't quite right. For £80million, you can say he's young, or has a lot of potential and he's only just settling in, but you still want to see a bit more."
Neville expressed this view to NBC Sports following the draw with Nottingham Forest, highlighting Sesko's struggles relative to other new forwards.
On The Rest is Football podcast, Gary Lineker concurred with Neville's assessment. He noted that while Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have adapted well to Amorim's style, Sesko has only displayed glimpses of his potential.
"I would say they are slightly better. I think they are moving in the right direction."
Sesko's integration into Manchester United has been challenging, with experts acknowledging his potential but urging more consistent impact on the pitch.
Benjamin Sesko's promising talent is yet to fully flourish at Manchester United, as both adaptation and performance consistency remain key.
