The President of the Monegasque Rugby Federation unveiled the jersey that will represent Monaco in Dubai, created from the imagination of 160 young artists.
On Wednesday morning, Collège Charles III was vibrant with the spirit of rugby and creativity as Princess Charlene attended the second edition of the creative jersey contest. This event blends sporting enthusiasm with artistic expression.
The competition was organised by the Monegasque Rugby Federation alongside the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation and the Direction de l’Éducation Nationale, de la Jeunesse et des Sports. Nearly 160 students from grades 6 to 9 took part in this initiative.
For five weeks, guided by their art teachers, students faced the challenge of designing a jersey that symbolised both Monaco and South Africa, while featuring the logos of the Federation and the Foundation. This theme holds special meaning for Princess Charlene, born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, who has deep African roots.
Princess Charlene, accompanied by her brother Gareth Wittstock, Secretary General of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, warmly congratulated all 158 participants and praised the creativity demonstrated by the 17 finalists.
