Let's explore my attempts to create three Warhammer: The Old World Renegade Crowns army lists. With the release of War of Settra’s Fury, Games Workshop introduced a new and intriguing army to the game.
The Renegade Crowns come from the Border Princes and represent a faction of exiles, outcasts, outlaws, and mercenaries operating in the region. This concept immediately caught my attention as a fresh and unique addition to the roster.
I have not only studied the army but also begun experimenting with building various lists. Unlike Cathay, which has a more defined structure, the Renegade Crowns offer many choices without an established framework.
My current focus is to understand the core identity of this army and figure out its main strengths and tactical advantages. This involves testing different list ideas to see how they might perform in play.
"It’s interesting to go into a brand new army, one with a lot more choices than Cathay, and build things with no real framework. To figure out 'What Does This Army Do?'"
The Renegade Crowns army offers a fresh, flexible, and thematic experience that challenges players to discover its strengths through experimentation and creative list building.
