Hydro One Selects AtkinsRéalis to Expand Bowmanville Switching Station

AtkinsRéalis Group Inc. (TSX: ATRL), a global engineering and nuclear services firm, has been chosen by Hydro One Networks Inc., an Ontario-based company with nearly 10,000 employees, to lead a multi-year Owner's Engineer project. This mandate involves expanding the Bowmanville Switching Station located opposite the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station.

Substation Expansion for Darlington SMRs

The upgrade of the Bowmanville Switching Station will facilitate the connection of the electrical grid to four planned Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) that Ontario Power Generation (OPG) intends to build at the nearby Darlington New Nuclear Project site.
