The innings started shakily when opener Fakhar Zaman was dismissed without scoring, caught by Quinton de Kock off Nandre Burger’s delivery. Saim Ayub steadied the innings with a composed 53 off 66 balls. Captain Babar Azam contributed 11 runs before falling to Burger, who dominated with the ball for South Africa.
Agha Salman anchored the innings with a patient 69 from 106 balls, while Mohammad Nawaz provided momentum, striking 59 runs off as many deliveries. Their partnership lifted Pakistan from early trouble to a competitive total.
The hosts lead the three-match series 1–0 after securing a tense two-wicket victory in the opening match.
