Erika Kirk, CEO of Turning Point USA, described the moment she learned about her husband Charlie Kirk’s shooting as an "unbelievable nightmare." After hearing the news, she immediately ran to get her children to safety.
Erika took over leadership of the right-wing advocacy group after its founder and her husband, Charlie Kirk, was fatally shot during a college debate at Utah Valley University in September.
In an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters, Erika shared her vivid memory of the chaos that unfolded:
“I’m just being like, ‘Charlie’s been shot. He’s been shot.’ I sprinted out of her treatment centre, just collapsed in the middle of the parking lot, called our security. Unbelievable nightmare.”
The 31-year-old conservative commentator was shot in the neck by 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who allegedly fired a single bullet from a rooftop. The attack was captured on video and quickly spread worldwide.
The shooting has intensified political divisions in an already polarized nation, drawing widespread attention and debate.
Erika’s experience highlights the personal and political turmoil following a tragic event that shook the country.
