Government to join forces with employers to tackle ill-health

Government Partners with Employers to Tackle Ill-Health

The government has revealed plans to collaborate with employers across the UK in an effort to address workplace ill-health and support continued employment. The initiative is a direct response to Sir Charlie Mayfield’s Keep Britain Working Review.

Three-Year Joint Initiative

Over the next three years, the government will work with more than 60 major companies and numerous smaller businesses to confront health challenges that drive people out of the workforce and hinder economic growth.

Focus on Prevention and Inclusion

This employer-led vanguard programme aims to transform how health issues and disabilities are handled at work. It will emphasize prevention, early intervention, and effective return-to-work strategies, fostering a more inclusive environment for employees with disabilities.

“The government will join forces with employers to tackle ill-health and keep Britain working.”
