Chrysler Recalls Jeep Plug-in Hybrids Due to Faulty Batteries
Stellantis has announced a recall of over 320,000 Jeep plug-in hybrid vehicles due to a faulty battery that can cause a fire when it fails, according to U.S. traffic safety regulators.
The recall includes 228,221 Jeep Wrangler models from 2020 to 2025 and 91,844 Jeep Grand Cherokees from 2022 to 2026, with batteries manufactured by Samsung SDI America.
The company is aware of 19 incidents and one injury potentially related to the issue, and owners are advised to park their vehicles outside and away from structures until a fix is determined.
Owners should not charge their vehicles, according to the National Highway and Traffic Safety Agency.
A fix for the problem has not been determined yet.
