The Niagara Gospel Mission is expanding its meal service to include lunch for the entire community due to food assistance uncertainties.
Located on Portage Road in Niagara Falls, the mission is responding to SNAP suspensions affecting thousands of residents.
"It's a tough time, especially for the families that are in need, but that's why we exist,"
said Executive Director John Cooper. According to Cooper, poverty is at 46% in this community, and the mission serves the third poorest Western New York zip code.
