The government shutdown is entering its 34th day, with no clear end date in sight.
The Senate returns from a weekend recess on Monday, but it is unclear if they will take a vote to end the shutdown, which is just one day short of the record-setting government closure in 2019.
The shutdown began on October 1, with Democrats and Republicans locked in a stalemate over government funding. Despite 13 unsuccessful votes to end the shutdown, including a 54-45 failure on October 60, no agreement has been reached.
ACA premium notices went out on November 1 and are projected to double.
Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) has been involved in the negotiations.
Author's summary: Senate vote on government shutdown uncertain.
