Consortium Awarded Rights for Oil and Gas Exploration in Bangsamoro
The Department of Energy (DoE) has identified a consortium, including Australian firm Triangle Energy (Global) Limited and British company Sunda Energy Plc, to explore oil and gas deposits in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
According to Energy Secretary Sharon S. Garin, the consortium will explore the Sulu Sea under Petroleum Service Contracts (PSC) 80 and 81, covering approximately 1,312,000 hectares.
- PSC 80: 780,000 hectares
- PSC 81: 532,000 hectares
Philippine partners in the project include PXP Energy Corporation and The Philodrill Corporation.
