Science takes centre stage during two-week West Cumbrian roadshow

Science Roadshow in West Cumbria

Science took centre stage during a two-week roadshow in West Cumbria, where The Royal Institution delivered 40 science shows to around 7,000 students.

The roadshow, organised by the React Foundation, aimed to make science accessible and inspiring for young people, teachers, and the wider community, reaching schools from the Solway Coast to Millom.

Phil Redfern, managing director of React Engineering and a trustee of the React Foundation, said: "The main aim was to bring a world-renowned cultural and educational institution directly into the heart of West Cumbria, offering an extraordinary science engagement experience for KS2 and KS3 pupils, their teachers, and local communities.

According to Phil Redfern, travelling to London to visit an organisation like The Royal Institution is very difficult for many of the youngsters who took part.

Author's summary: Science roadshow inspires 7,000 students.
