UNISON General Secretary Christina McAnea welcomed members from the south west to celebrate a major victory against outsourcing.
Members from Dorset, working across three NHS trusts, prevented the introduction of a subco that would have affected 1,700 facilities staff, including porters, caterers, and housekeepers.
“Every time we’ve seen a subco, we’ve launched a campaign against it – and this was no different,”
said Christina McAnea, who has led national opposition to subcos since 2017. This victory is a result of effective organising and a huge win for NHS facilities staff, protecting their terms and conditions, including pensions.
