Government Tightens Rules on Car Imports

A high-level meeting at the Ministry of Commerce, co-chaired by Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Industries Haroon Akhtar Khan, reviewed policy measures for the automotive sector.

The meeting aimed to regulate used car imports, facilitate local manufacturers, and support genuine overseas Pakistanis. Delegations from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) and the Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM) attended the meeting.

Senior officials from the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Industries and Production, and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) also participated in the discussion.
