Commission Sees Few Buc-ee's Backers
A public hearing was held, where only five out of over 40 speakers voiced support for the Buc-ee's proposal.
Denning, a 1996 graduate of Stafford High School, expressed his love for the county, where he became an Eagle Scout and has a Stafford flag in his office.
“I love this place,” he said. “I’m proud of it.”
Despite his affection for the county, Denning considered moving due to the potential arrival of Buc-ee's, a Texas-based gas station and convenience store chain.
