The Desert Biennial Project was a pop-up art installation featuring 107 Nevada artists, held on Apex Dry Lake, about 20 miles north of Las Vegas.
Co-organizer Bailey Anderson describes the project as a temporary outdoor exhibit that drew around 400 visitors.
The project took place between two solar fields in the Apex dry lakebed, surrounded by mountains, providing a unique "blank canvas" for the artists.
The work had a great conversation with the sky and the power lines on Interstate 15.
A selection of the project is now on view at the Holland Project in Reno, through November 29.
Author's summary: Desert Biennial Project showcases Nevada artists' interpretations of "gravity" in a unique outdoor setting.
