A routine Wednesday in mid-September took an unexpected turn for Sheila Brown of Ogden. While driving a loaner vehicle, she followed her normal routine, heading to her job at Hill Air Force Base and then to lunch.
However, her day changed when she returned to the parking lot to head home.
I looked down and saw something yellow, which caught my eye. It was a yellow band on a hand gun, which had slid out from under the driver’s seat.
Brown was shocked and initially wondered if she had gotten into the wrong car or if a coworker was playing a prank.
This incident serves as a reminder to respect and be safe with weapons.
